Which of edyn's packages fits your situation?
When you start looking into live-in care, one of the first things you'll want to understand is what level of support is right, and what it's likely to cost. It's a completely natural question, and the good news is that at Edyn we've made it as straightforward as possible.
Rather than a confusing menu of options, we group our care into three clear packages, or tiers, each designed around a different level of need. This guide will help you get a feel for which one might suit your situation. The important thing to know upfront, though, is that you don't have to work this out alone or get it exactly right on your own: the perfect-fit tier is something we confirm together, gently and without pressure, as part of your care assessment.
How our tiers work
We believe care should be tailored to the person, and that you should only ever pay for the support you actually need. So when you begin with Edyn, our Care Advisors and Care Managers take the time to understand the full picture, and then recommend the tier that fits, with room to flex as things change over time.
Here's a guide to the three packages.
Tier 1: Standard live-in care

Who it's for: This is ideal for someone who is largely independent but would benefit from a helping hand around the home, good company, and reassurance that support is always close by. It's often the right starting point for those who want to keep living life their way, with a little extra help to make each day easier and safer.
What's included:
- Help with household tasks
- Medication support
- Personal hygiene, including assistance with dressing and toileting
- Companionship and emotional support
- Some night-time care, typically twice a night or less
Cost: from £1,245 per week for one person, or £1,800 per week for a couple.
Tier 2: Specialist live-in care

Who it's for: This package is designed for people with more involved needs, for example, those living with dementia or Parkinson's, or who need support with things like a catheter or stoma. It brings a higher level of training and expertise, while still focusing on helping someone live as fully and comfortably as possible.
What's included:
- Help with household tasks
- Medication support
- More extensive personal hygiene, including help with a stoma, PEG or catheter
- Hoisting, where it can be carried out safely by one carer
- Support with more challenging situations, such as a reluctance to take medication
- Carer breaks arranged to work around the care schedule
Cost: from £1,495 per week for one person, or £2,000 per week for a couple.
Tier 3: Advanced live-in care

Who it's for: This is our highest level of support, for people with significant or complex needs who require continuous, specialist care throughout the day. It suits those with acute conditions who need dependable, expert, one-to-one attention, delivered with warmth and dignity, in the comfort of their own home.
What's included:
- Support with all household tasks
- Total support for all personal needs, including help with a stoma, PEG or catheter
- Complex one-to-one care and support, including managing specific conditions
- Hoisting that requires more than one carer
- Help with severely challenging situations, such as refusal of support or meals
- Carer breaks designed so there's never a gap in support
Cost: from £1,745 per week for one person, or £2,250 per week for a couple.
Tailoring it further: optional extras

Whichever tier fits best, you can shape your package further with a few additional services, depending on what would help your family most:
- A carer who can drive, or who brings their own car: £40 to £80 per week, so getting out and about stays easy.
- Spousal support: £100 per week, where your carer also helps a partner in the home with light domestic tasks.
- A managed food budget: £50 per week, where we take care of managing the carer's daily food budget for you.
Not sure which tier is right? That's exactly what we're here for
If you're reading the descriptions above and feeling unsure where your loved one fits: perhaps they seem to sit between two tiers, or their needs vary from day to day, please don't worry. That's completely normal, and working it out is our job, not yours.
During your care assessment, one of our Care Managers builds a full, personalised picture of what's needed and recommends the right level of support, explaining their thinking clearly along the way. You can read more about what that involves in our guide to the care assessment.
And because needs naturally change over time, your package isn't set in stone. If more support becomes necessary down the line, or less, we'll adjust things with you, so the care always matches the moment.
